Your team commissioned a product film in China. A YouTube upload now has a music claim, while a retail partner is waiting for the same footage on its own channel. Before you ask the editor to replace the track, decide which deliverable is due: a repaired upload or a master that can be supplied to partners.
What the Studio option addresses
In its 3 November 2026 update, TeamYouTube described expanding access to AI music within Replace song after an earlier US rollout. The YouTube Help guide, checked on 5 November, lists availability in most countries outside the European Economic Area and says the corresponding claim clears once the claimed audio has been fully replaced. Check the particular account and video before planning around the feature.
TeamYouTube describes the generated tracks as intended for content created on YouTube. Downloading a track does not establish clearance elsewhere, and clearing the claim on one upload does not establish rights to the original music on other copies. The guide also says saved Studio edits cannot be reverted using the original-version feature. Retain the approved production inputs and preview the change before committing. This article relies on the documented workflow; ONCE did not test an account.
Use two acceptance checks
ONCE's repair brief separates the live asset from the files a producer can hand over. For the upload, record the video ID, claim interval, backed-up version, approved preview and publishing owner. After processing, verify the relevant claim status and play through the changed section to check dialogue, product sounds and joins.
For the master, list the editable project, usable dialogue and effects, music that can be handled separately, and the actual destinations. Accept the revised master and named cutdowns against the picture, sound and agreed usage scope. Then have each channel owner confirm the replacement; a repaired YouTube upload does not update a retailer's copy.
If the only requirement is the existing upload and its preview preserves the pitch, keep the work within that scope. If the film must still travel, budget for a separate master. Both can proceed if the schedule requires it, provided the handover says which soundtrack belongs to which version.
Keep the sound that proves the product works
Imagine a hypothetical countertop appliance whose lid makes an audible click when it locks. That click carries product information. During a repair, check that it remains audible at the right frame and that the new bed does not mask a spoken condition. A cleared claim is not an audio quality check. If the preview loses the click or makes the action unclear, have the post team assess a remix from stems or another repair route.
Ask for distinct costs for Studio preview and playback checks, music selection and usage checks for the independent master, remix and exports, and replacing externally distributed copies. When only a mixed track survives, inspect it before promising reliable separation. No universal rate or recovery time follows from the platform feature.
Commission a recoverable package next time
Before the China-side production wraps, request a music-free picture reference, usable dialogue and key effects, a record of where music appears and its approved uses, and an owner for each published version. Have the editor rebuild a short representative section from the proposed handover before accepting the archive. Bring that section and the destination list to ONCE's production team when scoping revisions. The useful long-term record is which version can be rebuilt, by whom, and for which channel.
