An overseas brand gives an AI production partner approved product images from its Chinese suppliers. The partner then suggests connecting the brand's advertising accounts so the next round can build on campaign results. That changes the engagement: performance data, member visibility and the goal used to judge an ad now sit beside the creative files.

A shared supplier does not automatically justify a shared workspace containing different clients' advertising context. Equally, an isolated product-imagery order may not need connected ad accounts at all. Choose the service mode before choosing the workspace arrangement.

Runway Ads makes workspace design a purchasing decision

Runway announced general availability of Runway Ads across paid plans on October 27, 2026. ONCE rechecked the material on October 30. The release establishes Runway's product offering, not universal adoption or a performance forecast for a client.

The current Runway Ads FAQ says one workspace has one goal applying to all its connected advertising accounts, and recommends separate workspaces for separate brands. Putting client files in different folders does not by itself change that workspace-wide goal.

A purchase and a lead are different business outcomes even when both dashboards display cost per result. ONCE's inference is that the brand needs to know whose context and objective a space represents before asking an agent to identify the next creative direction.

Buy the service mode you actually need

Creative production with selected inputs

Runway's introduction says ads can be generated without a connected advertising account. Connecting one enables work from existing ads and their performance. For a product scene, initial localization or style exploration, approved imagery, product facts and a brief may be sufficient.

This mode still requires agreement about uploaded material and team access. It does not make broad performance-data access a default prerequisite. Ask the supplier which missing input affects which deliverable rather than connecting everything before defining the job.

Production informed by connected performance

If the assignment includes proposing new work from historical results, specify the accounts, objective, selected result definition, data scope and participants. Creative production, performance analysis and campaign execution remain different responsibilities even when one tool brings them together.

The introduction also says workspace members can open and read Runway Ads chats started by other team members. Naming a conversation after a client does not make it visible only to that client's team. The ability to continue a conversation and the ability to read it are separate questions.

The ONCE three-sheet workspace check

This is a proposed procurement method, not a platform form or a deployed ONCE system. Confirm three decisions separately:

SheetDecision to record
Brand and goalWhich brand engagement the workspace represents, its goal and result definition, connected accounts, and who approves a goal change.
Members and visibilityThe actual people participating, what each can see and do, and the inputs a temporary editor or external creator needs.
Delivery and exitWhich assets, approval records and necessary configuration notes the brand receives, and who reviews connections, access and retained material at the end.

A brand-owned workspace with invited suppliers and a supplier-operated dedicated workspace are different options to evaluate. The first requires brand administration; the second needs a clear handover arrangement. Paying for the software does not, by itself, determine asset ownership or continuity of the service.

Inspect visibility at the workspace level

Runway's Enterprise organization-space guidance says everyone in a workspace with Runway Ads enabled can see its ad spend and results. It recommends a dedicated marketing workspace when only some people should see that information. This is a documented product arrangement, not a general claim about every AI service.

Ask a concrete question: will an external specialist hired only to retouch a product image also see campaign results or client discussions? If those are unnecessary for the task, an authorized team can supply selected material without adding that person to the advertising space.

Separate workspaces should not be described as an absolute security certification. Inspect the actual plan and configuration. Likewise, a shared workspace is not evidence that a data incident has occurred.

Imagine one supplier handling an appliance brand's purchase-focused campaign and a pet brand's unconnected still-image assignment. Folder names do not explain the applicable goal or what participants can see. This fictional scenario identifies a setup question; it does not allege a disclosure.

Rehearse the roles before connecting client data

Ask for a demonstration using a sample space without client information. Show the perspective of the brand owner, production member and temporary external contributor: what can each see, who can change the goal, who approves creative, and what can be handed over?

An administrator screenshot alone cannot establish the experience of every other role. The demonstration does not require a live client account or active advertising. If the requested arrangement cannot be achieved, adjust the division of work or selected inputs rather than relying on members not opening a conversation.

Keep generation approval and campaign execution distinguishable in the service definition. This article addresses workspace organization, not account setup or publishing instructions. ONCE's video marketing articles offer adjacent planning methods for the wider campaign brief.

Price the brand service, as well as the output

Compare brand initialization, input preparation, ongoing membership and goal reviews, generation and revisions, approval records and final handover as identifiable work. A supplier can reuse a production method without pooling client data. Any extra workspace administration needs an owner rather than existing only in a proposal diagram.

Not every small assignment needs the most elaborate organizational plan. Keep inputs narrow for one-off generation without performance analysis. For multiple ongoing brands with connected accounts, evaluate dedicated workspaces and their maintenance costs. A feature included in a software plan does not make all human management part of the creative quote.

At exit, confirm file delivery, configuration notes, access and the future of account connections separately. Do not describe disconnection as deletion of historical information unless that behavior and outcome have been verified. Retention and deletion follow the agreed arrangement and applicable product rules, rather than an improvised cleanout.

For ONCE's long-term managed-service design, the repeatable asset is a checkable record of each brand's goal, participants and handover. That is a proposed direction, not a measured cost saving. Before asking how many variants the partner can create, ask who shares the workspace and what they share.

Sources and scope

Checked October 30, 2026: Runway's Runway Ads Is Generally Available (October 27); Runway Ads FAQ; Introduction to Runway Ads; and Organization spaces for Enterprise (help pages show no publication dates).

The three sheets and fictional scenario are ONCE analysis. No client account was accessed or configured, and this is not a certification of data isolation. The original AI cover illustrates studio collaboration rather than a client project.
