THE PRODUCTION BRIEF

ONCE VISUAL plans demonstrations and lifestyle content for smart pet products. Fountains, feeders, litter boxes and grooming devices need different actions and production conditions. Begin with the operation of the current model, then plan the pet, handler, setting and versions required for the project.

Separate device operation from animal participation

Have the product specialist demonstrate filling, dispensing, cleaning or starting the device. Record the model, accessories and operating requirements. Pet participation needs its own assessment of adaptation, care and a suitable filming window. An animal approaching a product cannot be scheduled with the same certainty as a hand pressing a button.

The setting should show scale and access as well as the visual style. Leave enough room to explain how the owner handles the device and where the pet encounters it. If several models are included, identify their differences before planning shared footage.

Product direction Potential filming scope Information to settle first
Drinking fountain Filling, assembly and drinking context Components, cleaning and model version
Automatic feeder Loading, controls and dispensing Food compatibility and actual functions
Litter box Scale, access and cleaning operation Use conditions and safety boundaries
Grooming device Handling, accessories and pet interaction Correct use and animal adaptation

Scenes can explain appearance and use. Claims about noise, safety, health or automated behaviour need the appropriate information; a calm animal in one shot does not establish a product claim.

The GIOTOHUN fountain film connects handling and water preparation with a cat drinking. The short CATLINK Open-X scene places cats, the device and living-room furniture within one composition.

The first helps discuss operation and use; the second helps discuss scale and placement. Neither establishes that every pet will adapt, nor proves a performance or commercial outcome. Confirm demonstrations against the sample and the animals available for the new project.

Plan a shoot that can adapt to the animal

Confirm the animal and care arrangements before production. Device details and hand-operated steps can be planned separately from the moments requiring pet participation. Build the sequence around the actual conditions and allow the production team to adjust the order as necessary.

Agree whether the work needs a household environment, a handler, extra samples, consumables or app operation. Listing demonstrations can retain fuller actions, while brand films and short versions may use a different sequence. Scope principal films, feature segments, text-free versions, subtitles and aspect-ratio adaptations individually.

Prepare the product and the brief

Share the current model, instructions, accessories and sample condition. Identify the pet type, priority actions, target markets and intended placements. Include any app, network, food or consumable requirements, approved product wording and preferred dates.

Pricing depends on animals and care, settings, operating complexity, preparation, sample availability and post-production versions. The cross-border product video service can connect the pet-product work with the wider ecommerce content plan.

Questions from product teams

Can we film the device without a pet?

Component, cleaning and operating details can use the product and hands. If the brief needs pet use, plan that footage separately rather than borrowing unrelated animal scenes later.

Can the production guarantee a particular pet action?

Assess important behaviours before committing to the shot list. Leave room for adaptation and natural behaviour, and agree alternatives for actions the animal may not perform.

Can several models share a production day?

Evaluate the shared scenes and model-specific operations. Keep accessories, interfaces and features identifiable so footage for one model does not appear in another product's version.
